I've got a few hours free tonight from about 5:15-7:45 or so.  Anyone free for a little Tidal Basin action?

Fished the incoming tide at the Ohio Drive bridge last night. Lots stuff popping on the surface, but I only had a sinking line with me. had a few strikes on clousers and deceivers but didn't land anything but a small shad. I did lose something huge when my line broke, not sure what it was but suspect it was a catfish. Good luck!

I was there for the incoming tide Tuesday evening and saw the same action on the surface.  Looked like dozens of small shad jumping around.  I put on a floating line and tried fishing a popper but it became impossible to see in the dark and I didn't get any hits.  I don't know if they were actually feeding or just jumping.  I didn't manage to hook anything while I was there, hoping tonight's different!

Per the pops on top and the baby shad, here is a video from last week. Lots of shadlings in the water.

I pulled my first fish out of the Tidal Basin tonight, a small largemouth right along the wall.  He took an olive and white clouser.  Made for a nice night!
