I had the day off today, so I went hunting for Snakeheads on Dogue
Creek. Bert lent me his Steelheader pontoon boat, so I launched it at
the bridge near the George Washington Grist Mill, and fished the
incoming tide from 7:30am to 1:30pm. I didn't manage to hook any
Snakeheads (or see any for that matter), but my 10 weight and the
"Snakehead Terror" popper got a workout on some hefty largemouths.
Personal watercraft are an excellent way to explore some of the
outstanding tidal tributaries along this river system. Thanks to Bert
for giving me a way to explore this one. Pictures to follow.
