really creepy. I was at pohick creek behind the VRE Lorton station a couple of weeks ago and found this skeleton. I looked ritualistic, but could be just coincidence.

yeah, Santeria...a religious practice with roots in Africa and Carribbean. Harmless...probably a good idea to report it though.

Use to see a lot of stuff like that in the NYC parks, especially in Queens and in Jamaica Bay. Most likely harmless, but really creepy.

Fish the spot off Columbia pike below Barcroft dam, just east of Harris teeter and the awesome grilled Peruvian chicken place.  Look for Holmes Run III park.

Where were you going? I went down there by Brenman Park (since I live about two blocks from there) just to mess around and work on my cast. It was pretty windy so Im pretty sure I didnt make any improvements. Didnt catch a single thing (despite being in an area where I constantly see a Heron). I read that they stocked it last week so Im wondering where I might wade in.

I hit both Holmes Run and Accotink yesterday without any luck at either location.  I saw a few trout in Accotink, but they were very spooky and would not hit anything.  I didn't see any fish at Holmes run, water was pretty stained and you could not see much.  I ran into a few others a Holmes rund but no one seemed to be having any luck.  I would be interested to hear if anyone was able to hookup out there.

Thanks for the report Eric -- I know when post reports you're thinking "why am I posting this" but there are always people reading and making mental notes ;).

I thought about fishing holmes run, but ultimately ended up hitting 4MR again.  My wife caught a monster bluegill in there and several other smaller ones, but nothing was too out of the ordinary.  Several people were spin fishing at the outfall and one bass boat wandered up at high tide, but no one appeared to have too much luck.

Gene, you saw "green ranger" nick in the bass boat. Kami and I passed him on our way up as he and his dad were on their way out. It was really cool looking down into the outflow from a boat. I could see the bottom structure really clearly. Didn't see any fish of significance.

Tell him to have his kid take a wider loop around my wife while she's fighing a bluegill next time ;).  The little sucker literally swam up under the boat as his drifted in -- kind of funny.

I saw the usual suspects in the outfall too -- greasy old shad, a few small and medium bass, and bluegill.  Saw another carp further down, but he was on the move....
