I'd go with two in a row. It is really a crap shoot from the weather front. You could pick the only two bad weather days on other ends of the week. If you do the first two days, you might be able to do the make up later that week if weather doesn't cooperate on one. Some guides will give you discounts for two days in a row, though. Another thing is while the bite can change overnight, it's more likely to change over a week. Could help you reduce chances of two slow days, but it could also stop you from two awesome days.

Now, onto my first post.  I'm planning a week-long trip to Stuart, FL for my birthday at the end of May to see some family.  I had actually arranged for a trip with a guide last summer when I was down but my day on the water was cancelled due to the weather.  The cancellation left me with a partial credit for one day on the water and as a b-day present this year my girlfriend is going to pay for second…lucky me!  However, having never been out with a guide before for more than one day at a time, and with the goal of trying to minimize any weather related incidents, I’m torn between booking the two days back to back or spreading them out over the course of the week.   I talked to the guide and he didn’t really seem to have a strong opinion one way or the other.  So I thought I’d pose the question to all of you before booking my second day.  Back to back or spread them out, what do you all think?

Thanks in advance.

No experience on guided trips, but from a personal fishing perspective, there are pluses and minuses to either.

Back-to-back:  You get to think about nothing but fishing for two days, and you stay "in the zone" and should learn and improve a lot from one day to the other.  But you might enjoy the latter half of the second day less due to repetition and fatigue.

Spaced out:  You get a nice break and hit the second day refreshed and anxious to hop back in the water.  But whenever I take a day or two in between days of fishing a new place, I can't think of anything on my day off but how I could have fished better and what I'll do when I get back out there.

Either way, you got one of those "good problems"...

Deffinitely two different days 3 days apart: like Mon-Thur, Tue-Fri.  After getting nothing but blown around three years in a row, we bit the bullet, booked two days 3 days apart and have been very pleased with the results.  The guide has put this suggestion on his web site, I notice.  He was a bit more relaxed knowing that one of the two days was bound to be decent, and the passage of time meant that we could fish different waters in the different conditions.  It also gave a great structure to the rest of the visit in that there was room for everything anyone wanted to do.

Hope it works for you!

Thanks everyone for the input.  As it turns out most of my week has already been planned for me...shocker.  Anyway, looks like I'll be spreading the two days out, Monday and Thursday.  Let's hope that works.
