When are we going to fix the issue of legality of wading at Gravelly? I have the info for the NPS POC who is responsible for the issue. We need a petition like the Fletcher's petition to get this resolved. What needs to happen to make this happen?

Still curious if anyone has been ticketed outside of times that the park is closed?  Never had a problem and never heard of anyone else getting a ticket.

I really wouldn't worry about it.  I fish there a decent amount and have never had any trouble, nor have I heard of anyone having any trouble aside from that one thread on here.

yea, familiar with Remick's story... Unfortunate, but think the officer was just coming up with something because the area was closed. Never heard of or seen anyone have any trouble when the park is open.

As a group dedicated to fly fishing j would think that ensuring legal access for wading the Potomac  would be a top priority. This is an easy fix. Department of Interior is aware of the issue. They just need some nudging from the public to address the issue. It is an easy rule fix. Just a process that has to be gone through. This area is home to many that cannot have legal issues for employment reasons. For those of you that this isn't an issue for - I am glad. This is an issue that prevents individuals in those circumstances from wading the Potomac.

"What needs to happen to make this happen? "

It needs someone to start the ball rolling. This seem vitally important to you. You say you have the necessary contact info and, as recently seen with the Fletchers effort, a correctly worded petition can make things happen.

So what are you waiting for? Get a .org website, write up a petition and start gathering signatures.
I don't think there is the law enforcement problem/threat with wading Gravelly you do but I'd sign a petition if presented with one.

Will set one up. Had been told several times the club would work it. Had volunteered to help. Was trying to get some movement. Had not been empowered to take it on.
