First, I want to thank all of you who chimed in with comments and well-wishes when I announced my plans to relocate.  https://groups.google.com/d/msg/tidal-potomac-fly-rodders/uIcSymCq4Ug/h7f3E9D1BgAJ  It was so heart-warming and encouraging while I was away to read the notes as they came in and it allowed me to reflect on all we have shared over the last seven years.  It also left me very confident in the strength and future of the group, and I am well pleased with the community we have become.

I am looking forward to seeing a ton of you tomorrow for my last BEER TIE at the helm.  I'd like to leave the club well funded, so we're going to have a pretty substantial raffle to load up the coffers!  I'm throwing in a TFO 7'9" 5-weight Finesse rod (4-piece) which is the perfect size for a lot of our smaller streams here.  Haven't used it since I came to work for Orvis, but it is still a gem and really needs to be back out on the water again.  Rod is complete with a sock and tube, ready to strap on a pack and hit the trail!  Others have offered some great raffle items, so I'll let them chime in with what they're throwing in the pot! 

To maximize the funding potential for TPFR, we're going to up the ante a bit with the ticket prices.  $5 for one ticket and $20 for five.  Simply put, BRING SOME $20s!  Aside from the big ticket items, we still have a ton of great books that have been donated by several members, so it's a great opportunity to add to the library.  And, we have hundreds of FREEBIE back issues of fly fishing magazines up for grabs, so please plan on grabbing a stack or two! 

To add to the party, one of my colleagues from the Arlington shop, Adam Sorokes will be playing his guitar for a few sets so we'll have some live music.  Also, as suggested, we'll be having an "IRON VISE" contest with the random contents of the BEER TIE cart.  And, I'll be making an official leadership announcement and formally passing the torch to the next in line, so be there if you want to hear it first!

As promised, Melody and the kiddos will be joining us, so bring your families if you can!  We're super psyched to see you all tomorrow, and I am super thankful to all who can make it!

I will be donating a 2 peice 7 1/2 foot 3 wt sage vantage with rod tube and an old school Orvis Battenkill 3/4 made in England model reel with 3wt line. This rod has only been used once and will make a perfect brookie set up for the Shenandoah National Park.

I can offer a two handed spey lesson -  skagit or scandi, or a single handed lesson on improving the double haul and distance.

Sorry guys I made a mistake. I dont have a 3/4 battenkill reel for the rod. But I do have a 5/6 Battenkill reel with a 5 wt line that can be raffled separatly.

No worries Art, any and all pries are welcome.  That reel and line will go perfect on the 795 I am bringing, so we can combine it with that or keep it all separate.  Either way, great stuff, and THANKS!

Street parking may be.  I don't think the garage is ever free, but I could be wrong.
