I was wondering if the members thought that fishing generally improved or degraded after storms in the DC-metro area? I moved down from NY this summer so haven't experienced many storms here other than the Derecho. I can say that after Hurricane Irene upended the Hudson River Valley and Adirondacks, that the following winter and Spring saw fantastic fishing. Sure, lies and familiar bends were gone, but the bug-life just absolutely exploded. We saw big reservoir browns come up into the creeks in unusual numbers right after. I'm certainly not worried about fish pop--they always hang on. But what's your thoughts? Is it different on Potomac or Gunny? Patuxent?

separately, I hope the forum members and their families are all safe and ok--the storm seemed to spare us.

Well, definitely worse in the short run. I hit Morgan Run, but despite 500 RB stocked on 10.25, not a single-one seemed to remain. Saw a few anglers but most did not stay long. I did spot a few trout below Klee Mill and took a nice wild brown about 13", but that's it for five hours of hiking and fishing.
