All,

Just got a call from USFWS asking about people removing live snakeheads from the river with intent to sell in local restaurants. As we know it is illegal to possess a live snakehead. If you come into contact with anyone with live snakeheads and they admit to selling them to restaurants, please get a picture of the individual. A federal judge won't pursue the case unless there is evidence (and these fish might be removed live with intent to stock in other bodies of water.)

Not sure if it was on this forum or not but someone mentioned seeing them alive in a local restaurant. Please refresh my memory if that was your post.

Many thanks.

And make this a reminder about the SNAKEHEAD TOURNAMENET June 29-30 All you can eat snakeheads at the weigh in and free beer from Flying Dog.

I was talking to some guy at the river who said he sells them.  I have no proof but I see the guy down there fishing a lot.

Hey guys - Longtime reader here, back from an extended stint out of town. Regarding snakeheads and live sales, I seem to recall that a released batch of snakeheads intended for sale - but which the dealer ended up being unable to sell - turned out to be the source of the population in the Crofton, MD pond where the snakehead story first broke locally.
