Any words of wisdom on when the inshore fishing turns on around Chesapeake Beach; and when to start fishing the Confluence for some Smallies?

Thanks in advance. Trying to get my calendar in order!

I think fishing the Confluence is a bit to early. I like to hit that spot late April when the water level is much lower.
