Why, oh why can Todd catch winter crappie with seemingly random casts:

...and I can’t even get a nibble when fishing likely spots like bridge pilings, etc?

Hey Rex,

On this day we were catching crappie on almost every cast. My friend got a new phone and he wanted to see how the image would come out and I actually caught the fish. This place is near Belle Haven Marina. It used to be a fantastic winter crappie fishing spot, but somehow it is not like the good old days. Since the winter of 2013, I haven't had much luck there.

Here are examples of what used to come out there.
