Shad Run Not Slowing Down

I fished at Fletcher's on Saturday, April 14 and it was red hot. I got 60+ fish in about 4 hours. Most were 13-14 inches, but I got two 17s as well. It was automatic. I got fish on 7 straight casts and missed hook-ups on the next two at one point. I think they are still around, people!

Good morning.  I am new to shad fishing on the Potomac.  What type of fly were you using if I may ask?  Also, I am assuming you were using a 5-6 weight rod?  Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I use a 7WT saltwater rod, with a sinking line and a white streamer with red conehead. I should know what it is called, but I do not. I got the flies at Urban Angler.
