I'd like to make a trip this season, but it's looking too difficult.  Luckily, there are alternatives ;).

Today was fairly awesome. Hickories all day, around 330 if I didn't hook one on every cast I was pissed. We also got two Americans and a snakehead on a crank bait from shore.

Awesome!  Any of those huge hickories out there today?

I haven't see a snakehead yet, but got a really great view of two sliders mating.

Another shot.  This was the hardest-fighting fish I've ever hooked on fly tackle.  I think I've hooked one larger on a different fly rod that broke me off, but this one had more zest.   The water was deeper than I like at this spot, so I had nowhere to beach him and no net.  I had to bear hug him and get him onto the bank ;).  That was after he ran almost out of sight 3 times!

Nice carp. That nice bass looks "fresh."

Yeah, my LMB catch last season was really not great honestly.  I'm hoping to have more luck this season ;).

I need to repair (or replace) that fly line too.  I have a huge crack below the end loop and it's scraped up pretty badly after 3 years of use.
