Had a trip to Cape Cod and fished Scusset Beach State Park. Hit the water at 515am and I think high tide was 915am. I got my first striper around 6am. I was happy and cold and ready to leave. Changing spots and blind casting that last cast produced another fish. I ended up staying until 9am totaling 8 fish. They were mostly in the 14in range with 2 topping out at 20in.
I was in full waders and the water is COLD but very clear. No sight casting as a local told me it is generally blind casting.
I used all kinds of colors and combinations from dark nonweighted flies to chartreuse clousers. I don't think it really mattered, if they were around they were biting. I used circle hooks on some of the flies for the first time. If you tie your own, think long and hard about the positive use for circle hooks as I got perfect sets right in the side of the mouth allowing me to release the fish right in the water.

All in all a great morning.
