Hi all
Thinking of doing a light bike tour up the c&0 to brunswick or even harpers ferry. Ive never been past lock 8 or so, anyone know if it is fishable further up? or are their adjacent waters worth fishing? debating whether its worth bringing my gear.

Funny you should ask. Last Sunday I wanted to scope out the canal. I'm a newbie and heard a lot of chatter. Anyway, I went up to lock 10 and worked my way back. Lock 7 looked to be fishable. I saw a couple of carp about 16".  I also walked a path from lock 7 towards the Potomac. That's an area that looks like fun. More like a stream. Didn't have a license or my gear so I just looked. I'm hoping to go back there sometime this weekend.

By the time you get to White's Ferry, the C&O Canal is dry. There might
be water in a few places above there, but it is too costly for the park
service to maintain the whole canal. The river itself is good fishing
and wadable in many places. I don't know where you can get them, but
there are some good maps of the Potomac that show the features in the
river. A store that sells canoes or kayaks might have them.
