Hi all. I was fishing up at Turkey Run yesterday evening, about a mile up from the parking area, and saw over on the Maryland side what looked like one of those "bluefish blitzes" I used to see growing up on the Long Island Sound -- a fairly dense group of fish (though not as dense as a bluefish school) consistently breaking water for about 20 minutes and feeding on or chasing some prey. Since the river is a bit wide at that point I couldn't make out the fish or the size, although the fish did not appear to be particularly large. Any idea what fish these were?
For what it's worth I did pretty well, although I was using the spinner not the fly rod. Two good-size bass (one 17 inches) and a catfish over about an hour. Lost several other bass. The big bass was caught on a jighead and saltwater Gulp swimming mullet left over from flounder fishing in North Carolina. Go figure.
