Caught dozen trout in size 12 to 14inches.

Oh! when you go out there.(Accotink Creek)

Watch out for angry fellow, I stepped on his back and he was very angry.

He is still out there in a hole, I'm not telling wich hole....LOL

At Accotink, it is the tail water running out of the dam that gets
stocked right? Not the Northern part of the stream. Is that correct?

Hey Todd,

Thanks for the report and great pictures. I am, for sure, not going
skinny dipping there. Eek!

I fished Holmes Run Friday afternoon and got a few stockers on a black
wb.

I can work from my house to stream.....HHH

You can park at the Weakefield Recreation Center off of Braddock Rd. and walk 300yeards to stream(West)

The water is stained but every deep hole holds the fish.

The fly that I used, woolybuger(blk, olive) san juan worm and flashburger size in #8's

If you have a fresh and salt water VA license do you need any other licenses or stamps for stocked streams in VA or MD?  Thank you for your input.

Gotascii,

Check it out here.

The running out of the dam at the Accotink Lake gets stock in Febuary, and you have to buy a pass to fish there.

This is run by Northern Virgina Regional Park Authority, and you can keep the fish you catch.

H. run and A. Creek is "Catch and Realese" Only

Holmes is running really high right now as water is coming over the
barcroft dam in white torrents.

here are my directions to accontink (email me if you want the .word
directions with a screenshot.

Take 236 east toward 495, go over 495 and continue east. Your first
left will be Pineridge Dr.
Turn right on Pineridge Dr.
It is a circle and turns into Accotink Pkwy -so you can either go
straight and go around the circle, or turn an immediate left onto
Accotink Pkwy.
Park in the gravel lot adjacent to the little league field.
Follow trail west down stream. Stream will pass under Braddock road.

For more precise directions, type in 'Accotink Pkwy Annandale, VA
22003" into google

Largemouth bass up to 12" and stocked trout.

Alek,

Trout may wash down to Accotink Lake with a high flow now.

but some stay in the creek well into next early summer.

Also, the stream will get stocked in late March or April.

I fished the Castleman and Yough for several days over the Christmas holidays. Streamers will catch a few fish. Snow is less than six inches in most areas and access is good, but watch the ice along the river. Flows jumped up a little today, but the Yough was nice.

Dress warm and enjoy.
