DC Fishing License

Folks,

Just a reminder that if you’re going to fish any of the waters within the District Of Columbia, you need a Washington DC fishing license, even if you’re standing on the Virginia shoreline.  Licenses are valid from Jan 1 thru Dec 31 of the license year.

Licenses can be purchased here - http://ddoe.dc.gov/service/get-fishing-license

And now the kicker – do NOT forget your password or login information.  Once you are locked out, you have to call the system administrator Wanda Payne (202)535-2260 who will reset your password.  If the system doesn’t take, she has to put a ticket in with the software developer, and you will not be able to login to buy a license online until they resolve the issue.  The ticket could take an hour, it could take several days.

Lesson learned – day off and cannot fish legally in my own waters.
