Hit Accotink Creek this morning and it looks like all the trout went home for the day.

I managed to pull two of them out.

Nice rainbow! Does anyone know if there will be another stocking of Accotink/Holmes prior to Christmas? The VDGF site shows the last stocking was on 11/15.

I have in-laws coming for the Holiday and it's always nice to get them on the water for a day.

No that is the last stocking for the year. I was out there last Saturday, ran into a guy who frequents that trail and he said he watched them stock that Thursday. I didn't see any fish but then again the water isn't terribly clear over there. They may have been a bit shell shocked given they were thrown in 2 days earlier. I'm not sure. But they are there!

Beautiful fish.  I was thinking of fishing Accotink the other day but didn't know which part of the stream I should head to.  Were you below the reservoir?  Just not sure where the trout are.

I was at Holmes Run the Saturday after it was stocked and also ran into a guy walking his dog (maybe the same you ran into) that mentioned the trout they had stocked on the previous Thursday were the largest he had seen in recent memory.

There were a couple of other guys out that morning as well and no one had any luck.  Glad to see you hooked into one at neighboring Accotink.
