Hi All,

Work load allowing, I'm going to skip out of work this afternoon around 1 or 2.  I loaded the canoe on the car this morning, but can't get anyone else to play hooky so have an extra seat.

If you're equally excited about the warm forecast and interested in cutting out with me today, drop me a line.  I could either pick you up somewhere downtown or meet at fletchers.

I was thinking of playing hookey this afternoon as well but the water still looks pretty high.  Let us know how you do.

Just be advised that Fletcher's doesn't rent boats when the gauge at Little Falls is higher than 5', as they consider the conditions to be dangerous. Currently that gauge is between 5.5' and 6'.

Be sure to wear your PFD. And let us know how you do!

Thanks for the heads up on the high water.  I hadn't checked water levels yet...enthusiasm was the driving force.  I'll be sure to update on my canoe launching success...and of course, the fishing as well.

I was just over there to buy my license,  water high and muddy, I would fish from shore. I am hoping this weekend it will be in form if we don't get much more rain.

The gage forecast is above 5.5 through Friday and above 6 on Saturday. This really sucks since the water temps are heading for the 50's at the same time.

Where can you see the forecasted levels?  I always use this to check it:  http://waterdata.usgs.gov/md/nwis/uv/?site_no=01646500  but I don't see a way to view anything other than current/historical values.

This one has forecasts: http://water.weather.gov/ahps2/hydrograph.php?wfo=lwx&gage=brkm2

Saturday AM is forecasted at 6.1 ft and on a rising trend...

Excellent (the site not the water level), thanks!

Keep in mind that the NOAA level river forecast is computer generated and 50% accurate as it takes forecasted rainfall to have occurred for it to verify.  Like eating fish you have not caught yet. Here is a link to a snapshot of key gauges that tell you what's coming down the river based on that criteria.

That's the gauge I'm looking at for a sense of what may be coming over the next few days. Won't stop me from going by the boathouse just in case things are better than predicted.

Scott - did you end up putting the canoe in yesterday?  How'd you do?
