I'm heading down to the West Palm beach area for a long weekend with my gf and naturally have to bring the 8 wt. Anyone ever done any fishing down that way? I can probably sneak away for 3-4 hours on Saturday morning and will have a car. Also any insight into rod setup (floating, intermediate line, etc) would be awesome.
Much appreciated!

I have fished much further north by Cocoa Beach this time of year. The mullet run is probably getting underway. In the surf, get/bring stripping basket and the typical recommended surf line is intermediate. We chased tarpon up and down the coast last year in October and did not find any. If you have a car you can pull over at different public access points along the beach and look for dark clouds of bait balls. They are pretty evident once you see them.
