New to DC

Hello,

My name is Doug but I commonly go by Dougy. I am a recent transplant here from Jacksonville, Florida. My wife got stationed here and we'll be here for at least three more years. I used to fly fish a good bit when I lived in the mountains in NC but have not done too much in years. I brought one 8 weight with me and one reel with floating and sinking line. I met a few really nice guys at the Orvis shop that took the time to teach me some spots to go and some patterns to use. I really appreciated it! I'd like to meet up with you all some time and I hear there is a get together near the Orvis shop. I'll check the webpage to find out the details. Also, I had to leave my boat in storage for the time being but I hope to bring it up here some time soon. I just bought a SOLO Skiff (www.soloskiff.com) and didn't know whether or not it would be any good for the area here. After going for a truck ride today with my faithful sidekick, Bentley the Wonder Schnoodle to check out some public launches it looks like it would work well here. My only issue is getting it here. If anyone by chance is headed to Florida and back heading through Jax please let me know. I'd love to see if we could work out a deal. Also, if you're heading to the North East area of Florida and looking for some spots to fish please give me a shout. I'd be happy to offer some guidance.
