I'm going to file this away and read it often!

That is a great read. I have experienced/felt all of those things. Frequently all in the same day. I was beginning to think it was just me.

Oh, it's me too.  I'll freely admit that I'm still casting wind knots at least once per "outing" when I go out work on distance casting, etc.  Every time it happens I just think "fail".

That reminds me to get a vid and post it for critique --

I took my Kayak out to Lake Accotink on Saturday. The Lake was drained a couple of years ago. I wanted to see if the lake was re-populated. It is. I saw bass leaping for dragonflies (?). I threw everything I had with a few sunfish to show for it. In the process I lost 2 flies to a tree, spent a least 30 minutes on wind knots and managed to wrap my line around everything in the yak and almost nailed my right ear.

But,
My cell phone stayed dry,
The yak stayed upright
Didn't lose anything or break my rod.
I tied a successful blood knot that didn't slip!
It was a beautiful (if sprinkly) day.
It did get some exercise
And enjoyed a very nice lake (even with the train tracks nearby)

All in all...a wonderful day! I'll be back.

Bryan

I see no real need to file it away if  I go fishing often enough.  ;-)  He forgot one: After slipping/falling there's one of my favorities: Losing your rod, reel, line and the big fish on the end of it.
