Harpers Ferry

Rich pointed me to some good parking along the Potomac upstream from harpers ferry. As I stepped into the water I noticed hundreds of crawfish scurry away. Most were over an inch long but some were tiny lobsters. I tied on a tan clawdad and caught 4, 16+ inch smallies. Blue walt's poppers caught a couple 14" fish and the remaining bass were on hellgrammites. Overall about 20 fish day and only 2 sunfish.

Large crawfish! Next time bring a cooler, some string, bait and a small mesh net. Get several dozen big ones and you are in for a GOOD meal.
