Someone had mentioned to me that there is a good spot to wade into the Rappahannock near Fredericksburg. Does anyone have an idea where that might be? Thanks in advance.

There is the 'flats' on the north east side of the rte 1 bridge. You can wade up above the bridge to the rocks on the fall line or down into the tidal flats. Take a look at google maps for the sandy beach and parking lot. You will need to get a permit to fish after dark that you can get from the local fff Falmouth flats fly fishers.

Drive 95 south to 17 east. Turn right at rte 1 at koons dealership. The. 1st right to get under bridge and go under bridge. Lot is in right.

Lets see if this links works. You wan to park where the (17) is across from Old Mill Park (you need a Fred Vegas aka Frederiskburg sticker on your window to park in Old Mill Park)

Motts landing off River Road has good parking, and you can wade up or down the river from there.  Also a great kayak launch point.  West of the I95 bridge about 2 miles.  can be crowded on weekends.

If you join Friends of the Rappahannock you can get access through their property, which is right below where the old Embry Dam was.  Motts Run is an okay access  but most of these accesses get a lot of fishing pressure.

If you go towards Culpeper you can go to Kelly''s Ford.  That is a descent access as well.  You can access the Rapidan River from Ely's Ford as well.

There are some one here that were accessing the Rappahannock at the Confluence of the Rapidan.  I am not sure how they were doing that but I know that the City of Fredericksburg owns a lot of property around the river.
