2025 Holiday Party Recap

Hey guys, 

We had a strong turnout of about 50 people to our 2025 Holiday Party and Ugly Sweater Beer Tie! A first timer (Marid!) won his very first-ever fly rod in the raffle, lots of awesome stuff got auctioned and raffled off, and much cheer and merriment was had. Thanks to all of your purchases, we exceeded our $1,000 fundraising goal, bringing in $1,042! We also got 3 new volunteer signups, 2 member guide signups, and 1 club outings signup. The clipboards are showing promise!

HUGE thank you to all our tiers who donated fly collections! Virginia Maloney (Chesapeake Women Anglers), Lyle Mayer, Brian Bennet (Vice Fishing Co), Ryan McCarron (Orvis Tysons), Jorge Carillo, Josh Schaaf, Richie Farino (District Angling). Hope im not forgetting anybody. Special shout out to Casey Peltier (Casting For Recovery) for choosing to bless us with the proceeds of a fly fisherman's estate, a ton of that stuff was never used, awesome stuff (if anyone finds out about something like that, were happy to raffle it off next year!).

Let's keep the momentum going into the new year! Join us Monday, January 12th, 2026 at Board Room VA for our next Beer Tie. I'll be sure to send out a Google form afterwards to collect feedback, so make sure to show up and make your voice heard as we look for our new venue. Miles has designated the tying theme of the January Beer Tie as "Streamer Eyes" so start thinking of your pattern to tie, then let me know if you want a "Demonstration Tyer" placard for your station ;)
