I am new to this group and have done some fly fishing in the DC and surrounding area for smallmouth and shad for the past several years. I have read posts about fishing the outgoing tide at roach's run by the airport so I tried this a couple weeks ago. I fished clouser minnows and wooly buggers for a couple hours in late afternoon as tide went out. I didn't get any bites. Any ideas or tips on fishing there.

Fish at night. I have never caught much there during the day.
