need help with twisted line

Hello all,

I am relatively new to the switch rod world.  This  month ive been tossing a lot of self tied gurglers with very big foam bodies that catch a lot of wind.  Im starting to see that after 15 or 30 casts.  I have to seporate the skagit head from my running line, pay out 40 or 50 yards of running line and let it un-kink itself.  The best way i can explain this is that it looks like a yo-yo when you were a kid.  Im guessing my flies cause the line to twist during the cast or retrieve.  Any suggestions to avoid this from happeneing?

I apologize in advance for a poor explanation as to what the line is doing.

Maybe a small swivel in the leader? That might help it avoid twisting the line.

Alright.  Ill try that as a first fix.  Im guessing just put the swivel in the mid point of my leader?  its just a piece of 15lb fluro thats about 8 feet long.

It probably wouldn't matter too much where it goes, but I'd guess further from the fly is probably better. This should help if it is actually the fly that's the culprit the twisting.
