Figured I would share these two videos that I made.  Any recommendations are welcome.

I'm no videography pro, but here's my zwei pfennige:
Camera lens needs to be closer to the fly your tying, so there's more detail. The fly was obscured by the dark background presented by your shirt. If the lens was closer this might not be an issue. Need more/better lighting to bring out/enhance the appearance of the the fly in the video.

Adding to Mark's comments, try putting the camera a few inches away or between you and the vice with a solid background behind.  A dark background for light flies, a light background for dark flies, or many people will use a blue background for all.  Also use a desk lamp to properly light the fly.  Take a look at Dave McPhail's youtube channel, best video's I've seen by far.

Thanks, Jim, for starting this thread. Video has sure added a lot to the fly tying world!

I've wanted to introduce a video component to my classes for beginners. I want to have a camera on my side of the fly, and have the picture appear on a TV or computer screen near me so the new tyers can see up close exactly what I see when I tie.

JPWhiteside, do you have any advice? My small camera will actually do what I want, but the picture on the screen is only tiny. It seems impossible to make it full screen. Is this probably a software problem? It's a WinBook USB PC camera.

The lighting is good in this video, but the camera is focused 2-3" shy of the fly.

I'm with Eric: much better.  Don't know what your are recording with, but maybe a macro lens would help?
