Fishing Port St. Lucie in January?

My wife wants me to join her at a resort in Port St. Lucie, FL for a few days in mid-January. She'll be playing tennis and has given me the thumbs-up to go fishing. So I'm looking for any suggestions for guides, tackle shops, any info at all. I know exactly zero about fishing in Florida. Actually, I know pretty close to nothing about Florida at all. (Doesn't have to be fly fishing, though that would be nice.) Thanks in advance.

I was down in Orlando this past weekend and got a few hours to go out and surf cast between meetings. Got about chest deep in the surf catching plenty of whitings until the sharks rolled through. Switched from whitings to sharks and threw on some heavier tackle and had a blast catching 2-3-4-5 foot sharks into the night. Good luck and tight lines down there!
