Recently, well actually two days back when I installed Flashtool on my Windows 8 Laptop in order to flash my cutie pie, Xperia Ray phone ? I ran into a massive issue. After successfully installing Flashtool setup I headed up to installing flashtool drivers. I selected the needed drivers from the list and executed with the process, but then suddenly the driver installation results had failed at the end. I tried running as Admin, restarting the Lap and I even downloaded the whole set up once again, which was pretty much retarded until i realized the issue and reinstalled the whole thingy. But still NO ! -_-
To install all the drivers for the Windows operating system, you download the software Easy Driver Pack for Win8 x64 at download here (Chinese version), after downloading, run the .exe file. For other Windows versions, you accessed at and search by keyword Easy Driver Pack
I think you have to install the old Edison drivers first. Emlid DOCS seemed to have removed that information which leaves users with older Reach products with no longer supported Emlid chips at a loss.
Hi @Charlie_Robinson, I have just been through the process of flashing my old reach modules to firmware 26 on a win10 machine. To get USB-to-PC connection I needed to disable driver signatures and then install EdisonDriverSetup1.2.1 as per this thread Flashing Reach RS - Win10
The flashing tool then found the module and completed the update without issue.
Now I took the same board and flash tool and installed drivers and CCS8 in a newer computer with 64-bit Windows 10 but I cannot make the debug/flash tool work, I keep getting the error: "MSP430: Error initializing emulator: No USB FET was found".
Also, the MSP-FET flash tool shows up as a USB Composite Device, which I believe is expected however I don't think the Hardware IDs match what I saw in another thread... not sure if what I see is still OK.
Here is what my build settings look like, the connection is kind of grayed out and hitting the Identify... button gives me the "No USB FET was found"... not sure if this is useful for trying to difure out what the problem may be:
Unfortunately I don't have the Windows 7 laptop with me to compare how the devices show up in the Device Manager but I was wondering if anybody out there has been able to use the MXP-EXP430F5438 board + Sample Software + MSP-FET tool under Windows 10... and if so, whether they had to get drivers other than what the User Guide shows.
This was the obvious first set of drivers I tried, however they would not "take" when targeting them during the "Update Driver" process. These I believe are the same drivers that are installed when the Sony Ericsson PC Companion software is installed, it does solve the problem of the device not being recognized in the Device Manager. Problem is, adb devices will still not return a device ID for the connected device!
I had the same problem, although I installed every driver required and the PC Companion application adb couldn't detect my Xperia Ray so after hours of unsuccessful attempts I installed an application named EasyTether from here: -drivers.htmlI followed all the instructions and finally I could install my first android application to my phone.
Problem is, that unless you have the adb driver working, nothing will be injected. The FlashTool has an APK installer within the UI of the app. On the other-hand you could just mount the SD card (no x10 adb driver needed), copy over the apk, and execute it using a file manager like Astro to launch it.
Unfortunately, welcome to the catch 22 that we have all been stuck with while doing xRecovery installs on the Xperia x10 since ClockworkMOD is incompatible with the device. The x10 is distributed by AT&T in the states, which means that a stock device will not allow the installations of non-marketplace apps. Even if you specific version of OS allows you to check "OK" in the settings to allow non-marketplace APK installs.
Installed newest drivers (and tried others available (3.27, 4.06 beta) in attempt to get things working
Made sure extension was 'allowed' during install process
Made sure security is set to off in recovery mode.
Madiface is recognised in Fireface USB settings app and can control my 648
Madiface is not recognised by Total Mix (doesn't show in initial device selection popup)
Download the USB Flash tool to update MadiFace's firmware.
Tried the Flash tool on an the i9 Monterey MacBook pro WITH the RME Driver / TotalMix installed
Tried the Flash tool on another i9 Catalina MacBook Pro WITHOUT RME Driver / TotalMix installed (to get round any conflict)
Tried the Flash tool on an i7 Sierra (10.12.6) MacBook Pro WITHOUT RME Driver / TotalMix installed
I'm sure it's not a hardware issue as the MadiFace is recognised by the Fireface USB settings app,
and that in turn can control the attached 648 (and solidly lock and recognise the attached word clocked
and adat connected mic pres).
" While the firmware update tool would run on M1/2 machines, it needs a working driver.
But the driver is not loaded if the firmware is not updated. So the interface firmware must
be updated first, using a computer that runs the Kernel Extension driver, or a Windows computer."
After the update to marshmallow i am facing problems with wifi and mobile network signals. I have to stand near the router to use the internet and another problem is that xperia is not detected by pc companion. I tried 3 usb cable and it only charges, i have tried enable usb debugging option and updated drivers. Everything was fine in lollipop. This is update is buggy and i have seen others facing wifi issues as well. Please fix these issues soon.
As you said that using pc companion would fix this issue, but it didn't. I powered off my phone and pressed volume down button then connected the cable the light went from red to green. I have another xperia that too worked fine last week. Its on lollipop and even my other xperia m4 doesnt connects to pc excepts it only shows charging. I tried enabling debugging mode as well. I tried 3 usb cables and xperia only charges. Maybe its a software issue. Its not allowing the connection between the pc and phone. Still i am facing problem in wifi, its having the range problem. Is there a fix?
I downloaded the xperia flashtool and downloaded all drivers including sony pc companion, nothing worked. I have two m4 aqua one is updated to 6.0 and has the issues stated above and other one is on lollipop. Last week i was tranferring my files and mtp was working in windows 10 and pc companion detected my phone, i did receive windows update in between but i don't know if it has anything to do with this, now the lollipop version and marshmallow version are not being detected at all. I am not sure if its the device or my laptop problems i tried all ports and tried 3 different cables and today i tried it on my other pc having windows 8.1. Is there still a way to fix it or should i take it to repair center because i am facing a lot of problem due to less wifi and mobile signals.
i turned on the enable usb debugging mode but still no response. There is an option in developer mode called select usb configuration. Whatever i select i comes back to charging only, sometime it shows media tansfer protocol but the pc never detects any of my devices, what should i do?
I installed adb drivers again by disabling driver verification, re installed flashtool, pc companion and other drivers, still no response. I tried safe mode as well in xperia and nothing worked. The last time i repaired my other xperia using pc companion was connecting fine until this week when i re connected to check for problems. I believe there is a software problem because the device and pc don't communicate at all. I have attached a screenshot, whenever i connect to my pc using usb it shows ac charging.
The first step to install FlashTool on a Windows PC is to install the flash tool drivers. The drivers are needed for your Windows PC to communicate with your Gemini, the minimum requirement is to have a 64bit Windows operating system.
Once downloaded, unzip the archive. You will find a folder called FlashToolDrivers, open the folder and double click on the Install (install.bat) file. Allow the installation to complete by clicking Yes when asked to make changes.
On Fedora you will have to write the following command to allow applications running with root privileges to access the X server (this will fix the lines above for both the gedit and the flash_tool command):
Before flashing the device with a different firmware it is a good idea to backup the current NVRAM partition. This partition stores key information for your Gemini, including the IMEI number. If it gets lost or damaged, your Gemini will not be able to take or receive calls.
The provided flash tool is already configured for your Gemini. To create a backup of your NVRAM partition, just click on the Readback tab and then on the Add button. A row will appear in the table as in the following screenshot.
If you want to flash the complete firmware to your unit then select Firmware Upgrade from the drop down menu. This will automatically select all the partitions in the table and it will restore your unit to its factory state. Please note that you will loose all your personal data/settings.
To start the flashing process, just click the big Download button, connect your PC to the left end USB-C port on your Gemini and restart the Gemini. Once booting, the flash tool will detect the unit and will start flashing the device with the selected firmware.
If instead you want to manually update your Gemini without loosing your data, you should select the Download Only option from the drop down menu. After that, make sure you select all the partition with the exception of the userdata partition, which contains your data. Your screen should look like this:
