Apologies to anyone who's also a member of the Democratic Transparency mailing list, and sees this message twice!
Franklin De Vrieze of the Westminster Foundation for Democracy has asked us to share news of the launch of a new certified course on legislative scrutiny and technology. Participants will examine how both legislative and executive branches of government can improve the quality of scrutiny by using technology to enhance feedback loops, monitor implementation, and increase citizen engagement. Drawing on recent parliamentary innovations and expert case studies, this course is designed to equip policy and parliamentary actors with the knowledge and tools to lead innovation in a fast-changing governance landscape. The course is co-organised byWestminster Foundation for Democracyand theUniversity of London, in partnership withPOPVOX Foundationand thePolitical Tech Summit. It will be held in January 2026 in a blended format - partly online and partly hybrid - leading up to the Political Tech Summit in Berlin. In other words, you can choose to join online only, or in-person in Berlin. Early bird registration is open until 30 September.
