Urgent Press Release,

Ondo State

Centre LSD builds the Capacity of State and Non-State Actors on Open Government Partnership (OGP) in Ondo State and develop State Action Plan

The African Centre for Leadership, Strategy and Development (Centre LSD) under its project “Deepening Transparency and Accountability in the governance process through the implementation of Open Government Partnership in Nigeria” with support from MacArthur Foundation, will on 11th October 2022 build the capacity of state and non-state actors on the open government partnership (OGP) in Ondo state and develop the State Action Plan (SAP)

A press statement released by the Program Coordinator of Centre LSD, Mr. Lawal Amodu, stated that the capacity building targeted at both government and civil society organizations in the state is meant to bring the actors up to speed with the understanding of the OGP principles to facilitate a smooth implementation of the action plan. He added that the Open Government Partnership is hinged on the principles of Co-creation which necessitates that government and the civil society actors work together on the best strategy to bring development to the people, while government drives the process.

Ondo state is amongst the latest to sign up to the OGP in Nigeria with the intent to make governance process in the state open, transparent, accountable to the needs of its citizens. Today a total of 24 states have signed up to the principle which is governed by four key principles: Transparency, Accountability, Citizens Participation and Technology and Innovation.

The statement enjoined well-meaning citizens to engage the Centre LSD OGP Project through the various social media channels:
