What is FAST.com measuring? FAST.com speed test gives you an estimate of your current Internet speed. You will generally be able to get this speed from leading Internet services, which use globally distributed servers.

Why does FAST.com focus primarily on download speed? Download speed is most relevant for people who are consuming content on the Internet, and we want FAST.com to be a very simple and fast speed test.

How are the results calculated? To calculate your Internet speed, FAST.com performs a series of downloads from and uploads to Netflix servers and calculates the maximum speed your Internet connection can provide. More details are in our blog post.

What can I do if I'm not getting the speed I pay for? If results from FAST.com and other internet speed tests (like dslreports.com or speedtest.net) often show less speed than you have paid for, you can ask your ISP about the results.

I have the Netflix app on a fully updated Hisense Roku Tv. The problem started where Netflix was crashing all the time. I cleared all the cash and then I reset the app. I also reset the Roku app then I uninstalled Netflix and put it back on. Now while watching a movie if I rewind or fast forward it does it for a little while and then it will crash to the home screen for Roku and I have to start all over again. The problem is really annoying and I've tried everything. The only thing I haven't tried is deleting the Netflix app or just putting a hammer through the TV and never getting another Roku device again. They're always glitchy I have like five different types of Roku TVs and devices with like a bunch of TVs for those types of devices a total of like 15 Roku TVs or Roku devices on Roku TVs. They all have their own separate type of glitches and they're all updated and all the apps are updated and no matter what they all have different glitches and different problems that come and go. This one is particularly annoying because it's the main TV that I use.

When watching the Netflix app on sky glass, the fast forward function is so slow. It only goes forward in 10 second intervals (slowly if held or slightly faster is pushing the right hand button repeatedly in quick succession) and has no increased speed or skip function as most other apps and Netflix directly on a smart TV do. Does anyone know if sky are looking at this issue as it pretty irritating?

@StGe Unfortunately that is the way Netflix works when watching through Sky and it can be very frustrating. As far as fixing the speed is concerned I imagine the problem is actually with Netflix as it is their App that Sky are using.

Our sky Q used to fast forward on Netflix no problem. I think its something Sky have intentionally made difficult on their new platforms to prevent people from watching Netflix rather than Sky so easily. Doubt it will change.

Hi, I was wondering if anyone knows how I can access the rewind and fast forward functions in Netflix on an Apple TV. Like the ones in the iOS app where I can fast forward or rewind 10 seconds, and the track position slider.
Any help would be great,
Cheers,
Hubert

Hi there!
Unfortunately, it's not that easy to rewind and fastforward with Netflix. I have found it sometimes works to hold down the select button and drag your finger left or right. Let it wait for a couple seconds, and press the play/pause button. This usually rewinds it about ten seconds or so, though it's not consistent. I have struggled with the same thing for awhile now. I hope this helps somewhat anyway.

Hey,
I don't know how you call the buttons on the remote but......
From the track-pad, the button on the left, the one before the Siri button brings up the controls to fast forward, play and such. Then you flick your finger right to fast-forward, and left to rewind.
The more you flick, the faster it goes. Voice Over tells you how fast its going. You can flick back to slow down the rewinding or fast forwarding, until it says play. That's when you stop moving your finger on the track-pad and wait a few seconds for it to catch up and start playing. If it doesn't play, then you can press the play button.

Today I was playing, pressing and holding the microphone/Siri button and saying "Skip forward 3 minutes"; "Skip back 23 seconds"; "Go to the beginning", etc., and to my surprise and amazement it worked!

Hi All, I have this issue since 2 days. My macbook is connected to my tv through an hdmi cable and whenever I want to stream a movie, it plays fast forward like x 30. this happens only if the audio is set on the TV. If I set the sound again to macbook, this problem disappears. How can I fix it?

Same problem, my 14" macbook pro connected to my avr while trying to use apple TV +. I don't think it's a problem with the TV as stated here because it was plugged in the avr for me and I have a projector. It did start after I switched from my laptop speakers to the avr sound. Did you find a solution?

The issue you're describing ultimately sounds like it may be an issue with your TV or possibly the content you're attempting to watch. We'd suggest checking the information in this support article to be sure you're using the right connection set up: Connect to HDMI from your Mac - Apple Support

If HDMI is connected properly, try watching some different content in a different app to see if that makes a difference. Also, you may need to reach out to the manufacturer of your TV for more guidance.

@Sparks0829 This is definitely not an issue with specific content. Moreover, it's not specific to HDMI; it also happens through a Thunderbolt-DP cable. All content is like this, be it something played via YouTube, a local content played using QuickTime player, and even screencasts that I made. One difference is that YT content (probably because it's streaming) quickly forwards, stutters and then hangs in the middle, while local content just whizzes by to the end. It's almost as some piece of multimedia subsystem continuously failed to play one media chunk after another, but I'm just speculating.

I started experiencing it a couple of days or weeks ago (it was not there before, and I didn't make any changes to my hardware except from connecting and disconnecting headphones). Here's my setup: 16-inch MBP (M1 Pro), Sonoma 14.4.1. Video goes through a Thunderbolt-DP cable to a Gigabyte G4WCQ A monitor, and then, using a regular audio cable, to external speakers. There's usually an OWC 11-port Thunderbolt dock in between, but I've also tried without it, to the same result. I also tried without the external speakers, just using the monitor's built-in ones. Surprisingly, even restarting the coreaudio daemon doesn't help, so the issue must be somewhere deeper. The only thing that helps is a full reboot or disconnecting the monitor and switching to the built-in audio device.

I was wondering if it was a setting or something as it seems all of the tv shows show the chapters (like Netflix) when rewinding and fast forwarding and not all movies but some. So what will need to be done to get this feature to work on all of my content?

Is it because the movies and tv shows are new libraries (had to redo my entire tv library after the update) meaning this will only work on or with new libraries and if so how can I get it to work on my old libraries without repopulating them all over again?

Hey Luke I checked the thumbnail settings like you asked and here is what was checked and the time for creating them on the working tv shows library and the movie library. I changed the settings and made them the same as you see here for all libraries 1080p movies, 4k movies, stand up etc... none work other then these 2 libraries.

Also might be a stupid question but if I may ask what is the Scheduled thumbnail image extraction for... is that related to what we are talking about here for Chapter and Rewind/fast forward creation?

I like to build, but a lot of structures need rocks to build. For my new building I will need a ton of rocks, like speaking about 1000000+ rocks! So I wanted to ask you, is there any way to farm rocks as fast as with the ancient hulk, in hamlet, but in dst?

Maxwell, Woodie in werebeaver form in rock biome. Or even Wurt with like 3-4 merm workers. If you have a petrified forest go crazy on it aswell. Also Oasis, DF Desert and Caves have great amount of rocks. Or stone fruits as Ivo said.

If you have the set piece of tallbird fortress or the hound mound one bring Bearger over there to destroy it getting alot of rocks it's only one used though or in summer explore the caves,do not contribute nothing to ant lion so the big boulders can fall down so you can mine it's not efficient but you do get a decent amount of rocks

Firstly I will build a hole wall across the hole thing (half left) and then I am thinking about doing a maze with 4 different rooms where would be some ancient relics and ancient chest, gardens, sacrificial altars and stuff like that! The maze will also use rock walls so it will take a lot of those to build this monstrosity!

The best most consistent way to get rocks now is farming stone fruit bushes. The more you do it the more stone fruit bushes you get which only makes it a bigger and better stone farm over time. It even produces the rot you need to keep your bushes fertilized.

Alternatively, if your world is old enough, your natural evergreen forests have already became mostly petrified. Come there after a hound wave and mine them because it will take a few days. Normal trees will also respawn there on their own if you didn't turn world regrowth off, and will also become petrified eventually.

If you really need a large amount of rocks in a very short time, a stone fruit farm would be the way to go. It takes a while to setup, but if you need an insane amount of rocks there's no better alternative.

I think I remember I've heard (maybe it was wiki?) at some point that the disease could spread from transplants to wild plants but I could not find that info anymore. Is that some old thing that got removed, have I been misinformed this whole time, or is this actually true? I've been somewhat paranoidly protecting my stone fruit farm and I'd like to know if it's unnecessary...
