The first club complete, they all come running out, faces (and clothes) covered in chocolate and my little girl hurriedly started introducing my wife and I to all her new friends. We exchanged (of course) the standard polite "hello, how are you, having a nice time?" with the other parents and flipped-flopped back to our sun-beds.
My 3-year-old comes with a limited selection of what's right and wrong. She doesn't have the level and pre-disposition to experiences that cloud and complicate her decisions, her communication, her ability to meet new people (yet). She has an uncomplicated approach to survive the 'unfamiliar' situation of being in a place where she doesn't know anyone. So what does she do...? Well, head on she goes in, unashamed and she meets her new best friend. Not only that but she HELPS me (a seemingly "experienced" networker and communicator) to meet new people, and indeed people who it turns out became great 'holiday friends'.
