达尔文的结婚笔记公开

达尔文在与表姐结婚前曾列出了结婚的优缺点，现在Brain Pickings首次公开了达尔文的结婚笔记。在1838年4月7日和7月的日记中，达尔文写道，结婚能带来“孩子”，“永恒的伴侣”，“音乐的魅力和女性的闲聊（有益健康）”，代价是个人时间越来越少，养家糊口的责任，伦敦社交生活，不能再自由旅行，不能收集和读书，就像是“生活在伦敦的一个囚犯”。但经过多次反复思考后，达尔文作出决定“结婚——结婚——结婚 证明完毕”。他与表姐Emma Wedgwood于1839年1月29日结婚，生活美满，共有10个孩子，其中两个夭折，女儿Annie在10岁时去世，其余孩子多数都比较成功。
