FW: Call for EOIs re ISC on Industrial Heritage

Hi TICCIH members

Many of you who are also Australia ICOMOS members would have seen the attached message from ICOMOS Ireland seeking to explore the necessity for establishing an ICOMOS ISC on Industrial Heritage.
It is not very clear what this would mean and I have asked for more information if possible from our ICOMOS President and International Vice President.
Iain Stuart has indicated that it is a bit unclear from the International TICCIH perspective.

I intend to reply to ICOMOS Ireland and signal our intention to be involved. I personally won't be going to Florence (sadly) so I would be interested to hear from any dual ICOMOS TICCIH members who may be able to attend a meeting on our behalf.

If people have any thoughts on this please let me know.

Call for expressions of interest from ICOMOS National Committees and National Scientific Committees (NSC), or members of ICOMOS with a particular interest in Industrial Heritage - to explore necessity for establishing an ICOMOS ISC on Industrial Heritage.

In an effort to streamline communication within ICOMOS, and to facilitate ongoing dialogue and information exchange, ICOMOS Ireland and its Industrial Heritage National Scientific Committee has undertaken to spearhead a review of the current operational arrangements. The scope of this review is to explore whether or not it is necessary for ICOMOS to establish an ISC on industrial heritage, which would operate complimentary to TICCIH.

To allow the necessary arrangements to be made in advance of the 2014 General Assembly, Mary McMahon, President, Industrial Heritage NSC, ICOMOS Ireland asks for a response by 30 May 2014.
