“Yamantaka is the wrathful manifestation of Manjushri, the Bodhisattva of Wisdom embodying the wisdom and knowledge aspect of all buddhas of the ten directions and three times. Through Yamantaka’s enlightened activity, he conquers Yama, the Lord of Death, overcoming ignorance and dualistic appearances. He is also known as a powerful Dharma protector. The Yamantaka practice offers a swift method to overcome and dispel obstacles, and to protect oneself and others from falling under their sway. This practice also has great power in bringing about peace in times when the minds of beings are pervaded by ignorance and aggression. Yamantaka retreat is conducted to cleanse all obstacles for every being in the world. The deity practiced in this retreat is very wrathful and powerful, and thus the practice must be done with immense loving kindness, compassion, and bodhicitta. The main reason we practice Yamantaka is contained in the phrase we find in the retreat text: Let the destructiveness of sorcerers, their gods and protectors descend upon themselves. What this means is that when you have loving kindness, compassion and bodhicitta, any harm directed at you will fall back on itself. This is the root of the matter. Why does this happen? Because here your mind is clean and pure. When you are meditating on loving-kindness and compassion for all sentient beings, you have no ego-clinging. Without ego-clinging, nothing can harm you. So through Yamantaka, we meditate on immense compassion for all sentient beings and nothing – curses, sorcery or whatever – can harm us. If you understand this, you understand all there is to know about Yamantaka retreat practice.” – av H.E. Garchen Rinpoche.

The Essence of the King of Samadhi Sutra, 26-28 maj
Undervisning under Saga Dawa på Ratnashri Meditation Center
The King of Samadhi Sutra or The Samadhiraja Sutra
The long title, Noble Mahayana Sutra The King of Samadhis, the Revealed Equality of the Nature of All Phenomena, is one of the earlier Mahayana sutras to appear in India. It is one of the sutras that is most recited and quoted; in particular, its teaching on emptiness is much quoted by such Madhyamaka masters as Candrakirti and Shantideva, as well as in later Buddhist literature. The sole purpose of this sutra is to show a path to realize the ultimate nature of reality, that is, equality of the nature of all phenomena as the long title suggests. In this sutra, the term samadhi is not presented solely in its meaning of immersion, concentration, or meditation, but also refers to the complete path of buddhist practices regarding conduct, motivation, the understanding and realization of emptiness, as well as a way to refer to the sutra itself. The sutra enumerates over three hundred of the samadhi’s qualities. In a very poetic language, via dialogues between the Buddha and Candraprabha, the Buddha draws from the wealth of his experiences and thus touches on an almost encyclopedic breadth of topics. The teaching given in the sutra is the instruction to be dedicated to the possession and promulgation of the samadhi, and to the necessary conduct of a bodhisattva, which is exemplified by a number of accounts from the Buddha’s previous lives. Rinpoche will share his vast knowledge of this sutra and profound insights based on his experiential understanding and realization of this sutra.
Rinpoche kommer att överföra och undervisa essensen av denna djupgående och välsignande sutra på ett lättillgängligt sätt. Kursen passar både nybörjare och erfarna. The Two Truths av Trengpo Tertön Sherab Özer
Undervisning på Ratnashri Meditation Center
The Light that Illuminates the Two Truths (Tib. bden gnyis gsal ba'i sgron me)
The 84,000 Dharmas taught by the buddhas is completely based on the two truths, the relative truth of the worldly beings and the ultimate truth of the supreme. The relative truth of worldly beings or the relative reality consists of dependent arising phenomena manifested out of dualistic fixations due to their misconception that aggregates (form, feeling, perception, formation, and consciousness) attributed to the self inherently and truly exist. The ultimate truth, reality as it is, being uncreated and free of elaboration, transcends through primordial wisdom the misconception that veils the ultimate reality. The relative truth of conventional appearances is relative due to its illusory appearances that do not inherently exist. However, temporarily from a deluded perspective, their specific characteristics are the (relative) truth. The text thoroughly examines the two truths and shows the way leading to the ultimate truth, as well as, the realization of the inseparability of the two truths. Khenpo Tamphel will teach this short, clear, profound, and interesting text in English.
Kursen passar både nybörjare och erfarna. Perfekt tillfälle att studera detta viktiga ämne med en högt kvalificerad och omtyckt lärare. Mer information finns på https://ratnashri.se/KhenpoTamphelOct2023.pdf

Dr. Hun Lye at Urban Dharma, North Carolina teaches
The Great Liberation through Hearing
The course is for those who are serious in learning about the bardo and are looking for practical instruction, Dr. Lye offers a four-part teaching on "Tibetan Book of the Dead." 'The Tibetan Buddhist guidebook for the great transition of dying, death, and in-between (bardo) originally known as "The Great Liberation Through Hearing" is a liturgical text taught to initiates in the context of vajrayana practice. After receiving this formal introduction while alive, when these initiates themselves begin the process of transitioning from this life to the next, they have to rely on what they have been introduced to to help them navigate the changes and experiences through the entire process of dying and rebirth. Although many books are now available on this topic and one could read about this topic, the tradition emphasizes the importance of actually hearing these instructions from someone who holds the lineage of these instructions. After all, this text is known as "The Great Liberation Through Hearing." And as such, this four-part series should be taken with all the seriousness and commitment of vajrayana transmission from teacher to student. Dr. Lye requests that participants attend these teachings with an attitude that is more than just mere curiosity and information gathering (For that, it is sufficient to read the many books that are available!).
Time: Sat.: February 25, March 4, March 18, and March 25 Kl. 19-21:30 CET.
