Assalam-o-Alikum,
Hijamah is the blessing and cure to every disease.
Hijamah has no side effects except therapist is using non-sterilized instruments or repeating the cups for different patients.
We recommend to use new instruments on each session even for the same patient.
Whenever any person go for hijamah, s/he must care of these instruments. (ابن-ماجہ)
Allah s.w.t has created our body and the entire systems of the body. So Allah s.w.t knows well about human machine and functionality/working of these systems. Hijamah treatment was ordered and obligated by Allah s.w.t for Ummah.
Abdullah ibn Abbas r.a reported that the Messenger s.a.w said, "I did not pass by an angel from the angels on the night journey except that they all said to me: Upon you is hijamah (cupping), O Muhammad." [Saheeh Sunan ibn Maajah (3477)].
In the narration reported by Abdullah ibn Mas'ud r.a the angels said, "Oh Muhammad, order your Ummah (nation) with hijamah (cupping)." [Saheeh Sunan Tirmidhee (3479)].
The Sunnah points are the essence/root points of the body which are 100% safe and have good-natured effects on the body.
Hazrat Muhammad s.a.w didn’t speak without Allah’s s.w.t wish. And spoke only what Allah s.w.t wishes.
These points were identified by Prophet Muhammad s.a.w. (ابن-ماجہ)
About Qamahuduwah:
Ibn-e-Qayyam r.a wrote in his tibb-e-nabawi book that Prophet Muhammad s.a.w said that (Mafhoom) there is healing of 5 diseases by cupping on Qamahuduwah point.
He also said that there are healing of 72 disease by cupping on Qamahuduwah point.
Memory loss issue:
There is another point called Cerebellum on the head which is cause of memory lost if cupped.
Lost memory is recovered by applying cup on this point but the expert therapist can perform hijamah on this point.
This point is sensitive point. Please read article on WIKI,

“It may also be involved in some cognitive functions such as attention and language, and in regulating fear and pleasure responses, but its movement-related functions are the most solidly established.”
