On the 9th of Dhul Hijjah, the Messenger of Allah ﷺ departed from Mina (his tent was near Masjid al-Khaif), and traveled towards Arafat via the blessed route known as طريق الضب ~ Tareeq-ul-Dhabb. Today, while heading towards Arafat, Tareeq-ul-Dabb lies on the right side and Nehr Zubaidah can be seen on the left.
Before crossing Wadi Uranah, Rasulullah ﷺ stopped near *جبل نمرة ~ Jabal Namirah* and rested under the shade of a huge rock صخرة المستظلة ~ a landmark that still exists today. Jabal Namirah has the *Ansaabul Haram* , it is among the mountains marking the boundaries of the Haram-ul-Makki.
On the return journey from Arafat to Muzdalifah, Rasulullah ﷺ took طريق المأزمين ~ the route of Ma'zimain, which passes between the two mountains. Sayyiduna Osamah bin Zaid رضي الله عنه narrated: “I rode behind Allah’s Messenger ﷺ from Arafaat, and when he reached the mountain pass on the left side before Muzdalifah, he made his camel kneel, relieved himself (urinated), and then I poured water for his ablution.” (Sahih al-Bukhari 1669–1670)
*Tareeq-ul-Dhabb* and *Tareeq-ul-Ma'zimain* remain among the blessed paths taken by Rasulullah ﷺ during his Farewell Hajj. I will be sharing pictures and videos of these sacred landmarks, Insha’Allah.
