Tibb-e-Nabawi diet, article # 20 ~ Whole Barley flour Soups
Talbinah, as mentioned in the Ahadith, was simply whole barley flour, including its chaff, cooked with water to form a porridge.
Another Hadith mentions that for a sick person weakened by illness, when the digestive strength had diminished, barley was combined with beetroot.
Prophet Muhammad Sallallaho Alaihe Wasallam advised Ali Radi Allaho Anh to avoid fresh dates while recovering from an illness, suggesting soup made from barley and beetroot.

It is highly understood that the barley used was in the form of whole barley flour, as the classical books of Islamic medicine generally mention whole barley kernels only for preparing barley water, after which the kernels are discarded.
Inspired by this Prophetic guidance, we have developed a variety of barley soups, combining whole barley flour or Saweeq with lentils, vegetables, mutton, chicken, and fish to create balanced, nourishing meals.
Since Talbinah is essentially a barley porridge prepared with water, we believe that barley soups prepared in a similar manner share the same fundamental qualities and virtues associated with Talbinah, while also providing additional nourishment from other wholesome ingredients.
Being water-based, barley soups are gentle on the digestive system and are easier to digest. A single serving requires only about 30 grams (approximately two tablespoons) of whole barley flour, an amount that provides a low glycemic index (GI) and low glycemic load (GL) while contributing valuable dietary fiber. And a single cup of this Barley soup gives satiety, you will never need to eat bread or rice separately.
The combination of whole barley with lentils, vegetables, mutton, chicken, or fish creates a nutrient-dense, water-based meal that is highly digestible, balanced, and satisfying. Whole Barley flour soups are the best diet in the entire world.
