Assalamo Alaikum,

With the meal, you can take few sips of water, but don't fill your stomach with water before or after a meal, and worst are the cold drinks taken with food.

A glass of water is usually 250 ml, even this much volume after the meal can cause bloating.

Give a pause of 30-40 minutes between meal & water.

If your meal was well balanced & neutralized, you will not feel extremely thirsty after eating it.

THIRST after a meal means that you have taken hot natured foods which were not neutralized with their opposites.

Wheat bread with curries will give you thirst, while barley bread will not.

Dried curries will give you thirst, soups having their own water will not Insha'Allah.

Dried curries without Shorba (broth) are not ideal, as they can lead to clogs and constipation. Consider the virtues of Thareed and Talbinah, which are moist and liquid foods containing plenty of water. Since barley bread isn't as elastic as wheat bread, it's harder to pick up the curry with it, as barley bread tends to break. However, wheat bread's elasticity makes it easier to pick up the curry bite. Therefore, the wisdom in eating barley bread is to have a watery curry, dip your barley bread into it, and eat it like Thareed.

Slowly, you will understand the hidden, the miraculous healing of barley bread, its dryness will enforce you to take it with liquid foods & soups (like Thareed).

Mutton soup has meat which is hot, oil is hot, and spices are hot, making Thareed with wheat bread becomes invalid because wheat itself is hot and it can’t neutralize the hotness of mutton soup, so you need a divine advice from Tibb-e-Nabawi, the grain chosen by Allah for your beloved Prophet, barley bread is cold natured, hence neutralizes the hotness of mutton soup & THAREED having barley bread is the only VALID combination.
