While the West often highlights Chia seeds as a good source of fiber, we are blessed with many powerful alternatives in our own tradition — such as Tukhm Malanga, Ispaghol seeds (not the husk, as I feel that Ispaghol seeds are better than its husk alone), Gum Acacia (Goond Keekar), and Tragacanth gum (Goond Katira).
In fact, when soaked, Tukhm Malanga and Ispaghol seeds expand even more than chia seeds, offering greater satiety and digestive support. And Tragacanth gum is truly a wonder — SubhanAllah — with its soothing, cooling, and gentle effects on the body.
Gum Acacia, on the other hand, is highly fermentable in the colon, making it an excellent prebiotic. It supports the growth of beneficial gut bacteria, helps lower cholesterol, stabilize blood sugar, and improves overall gut health.

Important Note: All of these fibers should be consumed with plenty of water to ensure proper absorption and prevent any digestive discomfort.
