Although a CGM (Continuous Glucose Monitoring) device can be expensive, it provides a valuable way to study how different foods affect blood glucose levels. It allows us to observe how quickly blood glucose rises after eating, when it reaches its peak, and how long it takes to return to the pre-meal level.
Many people share their CGM readings on Facebook, Instagram, and other social media platforms. However, a significant number of these individuals are not diabetic. Therefore, their readings may not accurately demonstrate how the same foods affect blood glucose in a person living with diabetes. For this reason, I selected a diabetic family member, asked him to wear a CGM, and carefully recorded his blood glucose response to a variety of foods. This allowed me to observe the actual effect of these foods on blood glucose in a person with diabetes.
Multi-Grain Atta is often sold at a premium price and is promoted as a healthier choice. But what does it actually do to blood glucose? I shall post the CGM readings for Wheat, Millet, Ragi, and Sorghum, allowing you to see how each of these foods affects blood glucose levels. And finally, we will present the CGM response to the blessed whole Barley—with its chaff intact.
If you purchase a CGM only once, it will be enough for you to analyze the behavior of foods on your Diabetes.
