Although Continuous Glucose Monitoring (CGM) devices are costly, they are very useful in studying how blood glucose responds to meals.

With CGM, you can check your blood glucose as often as needed without finger pricks, just a simple scan of the sensor.

I purchased one for a family member (at the house) with Type 2 Diabetes, whose fasting blood sugar usually stays around 150-160 mg/dl, while random readings go above 220 mg/dl.

While monitoring glucose trends from after dinner until breakfast, I noticed that blood sugar reaches its lowest point between 3:00 am to 4:30 am, but then begins to rise again for a few hours, even without eating any food.

Can you understand; why the blood sugar is lowest during this specific time frame?
