Tibb-e-Nabawi diet, article # 5

Many nutritionists and health coaches today promote diets that are high in protein and fats, with minimal carbohydrates; especially for conditions like weight loss, insulin resistance, Diabetes, etc. However, it's important to understand that Protein-rich foods such as mutton, chicken, and fish contain zero fiber. Similarly, Fats also do not provide fiber.

Neither proteins nor fats offer dietary glucose directly. Glucose is only obtained through complex metabolic processes:
  • Proteins are converted into glucose via gluconeogenesis (from glucogenic amino acids).
  • Fats contribute a small amount through the glycerol component.
In contrast, it is Allah’s WISE DESIGN that fiber is naturally found in Carbohydrates, such as whole grains, lentils, vegetables, fruits, (seeds & nuts also have fiber, but because they are calorie-dense foods, you can’t take them in large quantities, they usually contribute less fiber overall per meal). In addition to Fiber, CARBS also provide dietary glucose & natural hydration, as they contain significant water content. Even breads made from grains contain water.
