Gulqand with fresh rose petals (method # 4)

The ancient/patent method of Gulqand preparation is with fresh rose petals, so I asked my son to bring fresh roses from Madinah. After removing the seed buds, rose petals were washed under running water, you will always find some insects in the petals which float on the water & can be removed easily. Washing also removes the dust on the flowers

After washing, you have to dry the petals, put them on a cloth & dry them under the fan but you have to keep checking them, if kept for a longer time, petals will dry quickly, so you only need 2-3 hours under the fan, when water evaporates out, stop the fan.

I used the quantities as under :

Fresh petals as 200 grams

Samurah Honey as 200 grams

Sidr Honey as 200 grams

Saffron as 2 grams

Cut the petals with a scissor in smaller parts, then add Honeys & Saffron, mix well so that honey absorbs the petals, transfer to a jar & keep it under sunlight for 5-10 days; after which keep it refrigerated.

It was a special / beautiful Gulqand, with Madinah roses, saffron & two different kinds of Honeys.
