In looking at the Chinese calendar texts and checking some figures, I
realised that I had left something out of the (tcn) data structure -
the solar day trigram. So, I have now added this in. Also, because the
solar day data is not normally included in Phugpa almanacs, I do not
publish these data in the Phugpa calendars on my web site. Following
that, in the new Phugpa calculations I also left out the solar day
data. I have now included this, mainly for the sake of completeness,
but also because my main sources are Phugpa texts. Chonyi mentioned
the value of commenting and referencing in these files, and so I have
done that with this change. Much more also needs to be done on
referencing - given time! So, three files are attached here.
Incidentally, of the two Chinese texts, they are of different systems.
I am not completely sure about this yet, but Citsjam seems to be the
system after the Jesuit reform, the one apparently in use in Amdo, and
Citsmel seems to be the Chinese calendar before the Jesuit reform, and
based on the 120 degree meridian. But, I'll get back to these later,
as the Sherab Ling system is going to be my priority for now...
Edward.
