Changing topic to have more clear archives:

Great News! If all the texts are on TBRC, then maybe the best thing is
to make a clear bibliography with the TBRC reference and links, maybe
with the most interesting pages. A system with keywords associated to
groups of pages in documents would be perfect!

With my level in Tibetan and astrology, this is really something I
cannot work on... but would you (Edward) and/or Tenzang be ready to work
on this biliography?

Making a page on the wiki would be a good start I guess...
(https://github.com/eroux/tibastro/wiki/Bibliography), but feel free to
start it in the format you think is best!

Thank you,

I am really not at all sure about drilling down to groups of pages!
Also, some of the texts have been extracted from major collections,
and so could not readily be indexed in the TBRC database. Since Gene
died, the TBRC access has been tightened up, and I am not sure how
long it will receive funding, anyway. Put it this way: I would not
rely on it. My directory containing these files is just over 1 1/2
GBs. What I can do in the short term is go through the listing I have
and prepare an accurate list of what is in there, author, etc. That's
a start. then we can start thinking about what I have missed...

Ok... let's hope it will at least survive...

Sure. Also in private we can discuss about how to make this database
available somewhere and how it would be accessible... This is something
I can certainly take care of, as we have some servers available on the
Internet. The questions that come to my mind are:
- what is the copyright on these texts?
- should we make it available freely or should people ask for an
account like on TBRC? As the quantity is very important, this may be a
safe technical solution for the server not to be overloaded...

Thank you,

<<<- what is the copyright on these texts?>>>

Most have no copyright. I need to check this. As I am TBRC's
sonsultant on this subject, that should be easy!

I think make freely available to those interested. There will not be
many people. I have done quite a lot of distribution of TBRC texts
amongst monasteries, and word soon gets around. If Tenzang, Jampa - I
started putting this collection together for him nearly three years
ago, but have not seen him since! - Sonam Rinchen, and so on, have
access, that will reach most relevant people.

By the way, I do not have space on my web site for this, otherwise it
would already be there...

Edward.
