Install SKSE: Go to downland your build (Anniversary or Special Edition) and paste all files and folder in same folder as the Skyrim.exe. Normally somewhere like ./home/deck/.local/share/Steam/steamapps/common/Skyrim Special Edition/ (Renaming skse64_loader to SkyrimSELauncher is handled by running *Skyrim Post-Deploy* in the last step)
Go to this site -deck/ in a browser on the Steam Deck. Under the Install section, right click (LB or left trackpad click) on his link and "save as", name it install.desktop and save it (Download folder is fine).
download vortex on steam deck
I keep getting this error when trying to install vortex through lutris: "Command Exited with code 32512", but i do not know how to fix it, also am new with this OS as my pc is win10, but the steamos uses linux i think?
Exciting News! Using this link I was able to successfully install Vortex on the Steam deck. The ONLY workaround I had to do within the guide was this. After you install lutris open up the Konsole and type: (flatpak install flathub org.gnome.Platform.Compat.i386 org.freedesktop.Platform.GL32.default org.freedesktop.Platform.GL.default) without the parentheses. Once you've run the code you'll be presented with several options requiring you to input a number value. You want to pick the highest number as that will be the latest version for the flatpak. You will then be prompted to either input Y for yes or N for no, you'll want Y. (I'm new to linux but have some decent knowledge of PC's in general so there might be an easier option within Lutris itself but this was relatively headache free) Once you've done that follow the guide as normal. It should be noted that I installed it this way as the guide was expressly for using it with an SD card. Happy Modding!
Thanks to u/brave777 for reccomending the guide to me and with your help the other day. Also wanted to note that the desktop shortcut did not work for me but was able to launch vortex through lutris
You can install a custom version from the commandline as well by passing a GitHub version tag after either download, install or start. Example usage would be steamtinkerlaunch vortex start v1.8.0. You can see a list of Vortex versions on the Vortex GitHub project page. This will allow you to install an older version of Vortex, such as v1.7.X, but beware that installing older versions of Vortex may mean you have to manage the dependencies for this version yourself.
Vortex can be used without any steamtinkerlaunch configuration and will work ootb without zero configuration. Should you encounter issues, it is recommended to check for Wine compatibility issues and to use the most recent version of GE-Proton that you can.
Vortex uses 2 main Deployment_Methods to enable Mods for the managed games."Hardlink Deployment" and "Symlink Deployment". Symlink Deployment doesn't work under wine, so Hardlink is required (and automatically set for every game from steamtinkerlaunch, although it is default anyway)Those "Hardlinks" only work if the "Staging directory" is on the same partition as the game (yes the same physical partition, not the same "windows drive in wine). As Steam Library directories can be on multiple partitions a "Staging directory" is required for every one of them.
When you start a game steamtinkerlaunch will parse on which mount point it actually lies. Then it tests if it can create/write a "Vortex" directory in the root directory of the partition. If it fails to create a directory in the previous step, it tests next if it can create/write a "Vortex" directorydirectly in the "Steam Library" directory of the started game besides the "steamapps" directory.
The first succeeding directory will be added automatically to the VORTEXSTAGELIST listand will be used from now on as "Staging directory" automatically for all games lying on the same partition. So after you have started one "Vortex" game from each of your "Steam Library" partitions the VORTEXSTAGELIST variable is ready for all of your games. The only exception is the partition where your steam is installed ("/" or "/home" if you have an extra /home/partition).Here the default "Vortex Staging directory" is STLVORTEXDIR/staging instead.
Several games (Skyrim, Fallout flavours) have many mods which depends on a special "Script Extender" program ("SE").Unfortunately those "SE" programs don't work with default proton since some time. When steamtinkerlaunch detects one of those "SE exe" files in the game dir, a requester will pop up with the following options:
I deleted my saved game information (found in the users\appdata\roaming\darktide ) and the old vortex folder, and it still crashes. I will try to verify integrity of game files through steam next. Thanks!
The creation of all heat exchangers supposes the establishment of a quantitative and qualitative relationship between the flow and heat flux distribution at heat transfer surfaces. The paper presents the study's results of the vortex flow's structure and heat transfer near two circular cylinders. The distance between the cylinders ranged from 0.5d to 4d during the experiments (here d is the diameter of the cylinders). The vortex flow's patterns in hydro- and wind tunnels in the Reynolds numbers' range from 4000 to 40,000 are compared. To study heat transfer near the cylinders, gradient heat flux measurement was used. In aerodynamic experiments, both cylinders were heated with saturated steam, ensuring a constant surface temperature of the cylinder. The results showed an agreement of the flow patterns. The effect of distance and flow velocity on the flow around the second cylinder is revealed: there may be cases when the second cylinder is at rest, in other cases it fluctuates. Gradient heatmetry revealed a decrease in the level of fluctuations near the second cylinder. However, the average Nusselt number for the second cylinder is expectedly lower than for the first.
