I added a script that just runs "sudo rm -R /Library/Application Support/Microsoft/MAU2.0/" and that should remove the updater so Office doesn't know it's out-of-date and doesn't prompt you with the banner I initially posted about.
@talkingmoose Good idea. I am going to try to unload /Library/Application Support/Microsoft/MAU2.0/Microsoft AutoUpdate.app/Contents/MacOS/Microsoft AU Daemon.app and see if that works. Looks like -us/msoffice/forum/all/how-to-prevent-microsoft-au-daemon-from-running-on/8cbe1d54-02c4-48f3-88ad-cba301b6396b specifies running the following commands of which I am going to script out, test, and deploy to my users.
launchctl stop com.microsoft.update.agent
launchctl remove com.microsoft.update.agent
sudo launchctl stop com.microsoft.update.agent
sudo launchctl remove com.microsoft.update.agent
sudo launchctl stop com.microsoft.autoupdate.helper
sudo launchctl remove com.microsoft.autoupdate.helper
Hey guys, I see this an old post but I have the same problem, Im seeing that theres a code here pbowden-msft/ResetUpdateMessage

I'm trying to remove all Office 365 applications and any file with the word Microsoft in it from all our Macs. I wrote a .sh script and it is installed with Composer. Then a I have a script run that is sudo sh /path to .sh command. The Composer package will remove all the applications after a while but most of the rest of the files aren't removed. If I copy one line and paste it into Terminal it will run and remove the file(s). Why will the Terminal commands work in Terminal but not when I run them in Composer. My .sh script is setup like this but with a lot more paths listed: Thanks!
I'm confused as to why you are using composer to install a script? Any script can run direct from within a policy. I use this one, to remove Office files. It does not remove Teams, I've not ammened it, but other than that it does a good job. The creators name is in the script.
The removal script on that website does a good job and is very fast. However, it still doesn't completely remove/change all of Microsoft Office. When I install our regualar version of MS Office and Word is launched you see places that allow you to sign in. If you try to sign in you only get a blank page.
When I install Office 365 and login to register my ID I don't get the same results. I remove Office 365, reinstall our regular version with our serial number and at first launch I'm presented with a sign in button. If I try to sign in I am able to.
In Windows we are allowed to change that correctly so the user cannot log in after 365 is removed and our version with the serial number is installed. It appears that can only be done correctly using Windows.
I'd like to completely remove all trace of the two cancelled Office 365 accounts. I have removed the email accounts from Outlook 2016 and the accounts no longer show up in the top left corner of Word 2016 or Excel 2016 when I click my name to switch account but I still have traces of them left. I have also removed the OneDrive for Business syncing for both accounts and deleted all the files associated with them.
During the registration process, the U.S. Copyright Office collects certain types of personally identifiable information (PII), such as names, addresses, phone numbers, and emails. The Copyright Office provides some of this information in its public catalog, including cocatalog.loc.gov and the Copyright Public Records System (CPRS) pilot at publicrecords.copyright.gov. If you have a specific privacy or safety concern about the availability of this information, you can ask the Office to remove or replace some types of PII in the online catalog, according to the limitations and procedures set forth in 37 CFR 201.2(e). The fee for this service is $100 per registration record.

Currently the following formula's (non exhaustive list) exist:microsoft-edge,microsoft-excel,microsoft-lync,microsoft-office,microsoft-office-2011,microsoft-office-2016,microsoft-outlook,microsoft-powerpoint,microsoft-teams,microsoft-word,
I updated the manifest XML for new ribbon commands, but Excel is not updating. I am unable to update/remove/reinstall an add-in installed from the "Shared Folder". I tried removing the add-in catalog and re-adding it in Trust Center Settings, but that did not work.
The acobat addin on the word for Mac version ribbon bar is unnessceary and I want to remove it.
However, the word for Mac is not the same with the word for win so I can't find ways to remove the addin.
Having this issue with PowerPoint. I've gone in and removed the files in the /Library/Group Containers/long random string.Office/User Content/ folder. I've ran the find command (w/ sudo) to locate any other copies of the files, both full file names and using wildcards. I can't locate any other copies of these files on my machine but i still get the message when loading up PowerPoint. Only PowerPoint.
Access Database Engine is most commonly included as part of other applications which are interacting with Access data sources, and uninstalling Access Database Engine could impact functionality of these applications. Before removing Access Database Engine, ensure that any applications which require this component are removed or no longer needed.
In lieu of targeting as a group, I would use excel, match and remove, and target only workstations not matching your list of allowed users. You may need to audit several times. However, if you insist on pursuing the group based approach just be forewarned you may find yourself with some unexpected processing overhead to process the group membership and unexpected behavior, so test with blank actions first (it will also take a few rounds to fully percolate through and report all the member/not-member details).
most likely you need to remove the whole configuration which was done by Harmony Email in O365 tenant, not only the user (Connectors, Mailflow-Rules / Journaling-Rules, Enterprise Apps ...) Afterwards you should be able to re-authorize the connection. Dont use manual mode, as it is a lot more unflexible and you will need to change settings manually each time you change the policy.
As stated by Albero and Phoneboy, just open an SR. You will get an info form TAC what should be removed in the tenant. Maybe they also can just initiate only missing things in the backend to be added.
I know that there are countless questions about how to install office and what not. But the issue I have is now that I have installed it onto my system (and it never worked, just fyi) I am now stuck with these office icons in the unity browser. Has anyone come across this issue and how can I fix this? I imagine there are some images stored somewhere and I just have to remove them because when I select the program nothing runs.
I was able to remove these pesky icons by deleting the /.local/share/applications/wine/Programs/Microsoft Office 2013 folder. I uninstalled Wine, PlayOnLinux, but this folder was snuggly hidden, not under .wine or .playonlinux. Found it thanks to this discussion.
you cannot double-click this "untrusted launcher" and choose to open with... or anything, so you have to drag it onto a gedit window. Otherwise you can remove the .desktop extension and add .txt, then open it as any text file.
I've spend 4 hours already on removing the Pre-installed Office 365 but I'm not getting to the point. I've tried multiple options such as WMIC, DISM, APP(X)ProvisionedPackage, APPPackage etc. but Office 365 is not properly being removed.
WMIC: Turned out that WMIC is not properly uninstalling the app as I read on multiple topics. I've tried multiple commands but I've not managed to get it working to uninstall. Also, Removing the Office-16 Click2Run does not result in a removed Office 365 (c:\program files\microsoft office\root\integration\).
Under New Mexico law, any private citizen of the state may file a lawsuit to remove a disqualified county official from office. A group of New Mexico residents were represented in this case by Citizens for Responsibility and Ethics in Washington and the New Mexico-based law firms of Freedman Boyd Hollander and Goldberg P.A, Dodd Law Office, LLC, and the Law Office of Amber Fayerberg, LLC, as well as by Cohen Milstein Sellers & Toll PLLC.
I am writing an office script to create a table in excel. When testing it in power automate it fell over because there was already a table in the file. To get round this I would like to check if there is a table and if so convert it to a range.
My company is a 3rd party logistics provider to a meat processing plant (we manage the storages and dispatch). Our office is situated in a general access area, connected but outside the production and logistics facilities. our client company has their office nearby (20 meters away with regulars-only secured access) and has their own pantry. We have 25 people in the office doing admin works, and are not in direct contact with the processed meat products. and sometimes our office holds meetings also since we have a conference table. however, we were advised to remove our sole water dispenser and all drinking containers due to "compliance". Please help to clarify if we could retain the water dispenser, since the canteen is quite far and a bit bothersome to go to if we want to re-hydrate.
